While I was sleeping this morning, Lydia Mei was dressed in some Chinese finery and decided against wasting the Cheerios she dropped on the floor from her high chair!

My thoughts tonight.....
From The Message: Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless (orphans!) and loveless in their plight......James 1:27
Six Months Ago.................

Six months ago today, Sunday, February 17, we held Lydia Mei for the first time. She was quiet, sick, dirty, and had very empty eyes. She didn't cry much. She responded to us, though now I can say it was "tentatively".
Today she is very much alive. She "chats", has a smile in her eye, is curious, involved, loud at times, and mimics EVERYTHING! She does not want to be left alone, she loves attention, and she definitely lets us know what she wants. She is using a few words, and recognizes many.
She is a joy and a delight. A beautiful child of God. An orphan who has a forever family. Praise be to God!

August Update>>>>>
It has been a while since I posted. Things have been crazy busy here with my new job, 2 kids in football, 1 in cross country, end of summer stuff, and visits from family. It is all good, just makes for busy and full days. These pictures are taken near Lake Michigan the first weekend of August when some of Doug's family was here visiting. God has blessed us with good health, jobs, wonderful children, and so much more. Lydia Mei continues to delight and amaze us. She has progressed so much. She is a little chatter box, a great imitator, and a "ham". Needless to say, she has older siblings teaching her many things.
Best of all, she has become and affectionate and loving little girl. She loves to be held and cuddled. Her eyes light up when one of us walks in the room.....what is the saying.....we are "over the moon" in love with her!
