Ni Hao!

Today I dressed Lydia Mei up in her Chinese outfit; squeaky shoes, pigtails and a barrette completed the look. She ran around the yard screaming "Ni hao! Ni hao!" It was very cute! She is growing up so fast. She loves to play with my cell phone, with play dough, have pink with purple sparkles on her nails, and she has a new found love for the movie Mamma Mia! (she wanted to watch it twice today). She loves to dance especially when the whole family chimes in! But she still is not sleeping through the night...

Long time, no see!

I am very ashamed to say that this blog has not been updated since I went to China! So... I will post a few pictures of our sweet little princess, Lydia Mei. Okay, so, maybe she isn't exactly a sweet little princess but we love her just the same!

She is growing up so fast! It seems in the two weeks that I was gone, her hair grew two inches longer, she is able to make sentences when talking (which she does way too much of!), and she can tell us when she wants to go on the "potty"! Lydia Mei can even take a pictures of herself on a cell phone... sorry, Mom! She is crazier and louder than ever and even a little stubborn. She's such a little character!

Flower Girl!

Yesterday, Lydia Mei was the flower girl for my cousin Sarah's wedding. She was very cute and Sarah was beautiful! I don't really have a lot of time to share (because I am busy packing for China), but I do have one picture to share that I took when Lydia Mei was getting ready to get in the car.

By the way, I will try to update my blog (http://godsplanandmythoughts.blogspot.com/) while I am in China! Elizabeth

Practice Hair-Do for the Flower Girl!

Lydia Mei is going to be a flower girl in a few days... so I practiced her hair-do! Let's just say that I'm a bit jealous, I wish I had an older sister to do my hair like that!

By the way, the white stuff on her arm is soap... sorry, Mom!

Sprinkler Time!

While my mom was cooking dinner, I took Lydia Mei for a walk and... she saw sprinklers! She pointed to them and got all excited. So I decided to let her run through the sprinkler. Aaron enlightened her in the art of jumping through sprinklers... but she thought the water was too cold. She had a lot of fun, though!

China Travel Group Reunion!

A few weekends ago, our family went to Lydia Mei's travel group reunion! Six families came with their girls who are all about two years old. The weekend was really fun and we spent time going to the Pittsburgh Zoo, eating out, swimming, and just spending time together! Aaron and Benjamin were definitely a huge help (but I think they actually enjoyed playing with the girls). Enjoy!
Doesn't this remind you of the red couch photo?

Mother's Day, Pictures, and Updates!

We've been so busy that nobody has time to update the blog! So I guess I will step up to the plate and add some pictures. Lydia Mei is doing very well in day care but is still not sleeping through the night but that's a story for my mom to tell... She is talking like crazy and even can say my name (or at least attempts to)! Lydia Mei is also very good at sign language and knows the signs for "more", "eat", "milk", "baby", "Jesus", "bird" and more. She can roar like a lion and bark like a dog. She is definetly the person with the most energy in our house!

Benjamin and Lydia Mei (top) and Mother's Day (bottom)

For Mother's Day this year, we took my mom out to Hunan Gardens, a local Chinese restaurant (and as usual, there aren't any good pictures). All the kids gave her gifts and Aaron even compared her to a mother gorilla! Not sure about that one...

Easter Weekend

Grandma and Lydia Mei
Playing at the park with Benjamin and Aaron

Lydia Mei and Aaron and the creek by Grandma's house

We headed down to Ohio for Easter to visit our grandma, aunt, uncle, and cousins. It was going fine until... the boys got the stomach flu on Easter morning! We ended up leaving earlier than we thought and headed back to Michigan.
