......"then our mouths were filled with laughter".....Ps. 126:2.
As I have recently posted, laundry is so ever unending at our household, and probably at yours as well. God took the mundane today and made it the highlight of the day~I must explain.
It all started with an innocent load of kitchen towels, cloth napkins, etc. While this load was in the washer, I read my emails. Reading an email from one of my dearest friends, she stated that she was doing her 4th load of the day and was thinking of me. I thought, "how nice, she thinks of me because of laundry, must be my new identity".
On to taking the load of towels out of the washer to place in the dryer....lo and behold, I see pieces of a baked potato scattered through my load of "clean" laundry. How could this be? What child of mine is responsible? Too funny to be shared alone, I called this dear friend. When she answered the phone, I asked her how her laundry was going?!?!? and proceeded to tell her that my latest load of laundry contained a baked potato, probably put in the dirty towel basket last night after supper, wrapped up in the cloth I used to cook it in the microwave. As we laughed together over the phone, I proceeded to dig through the washer and its contents, finding dozens of chunks of baked potato scattered through the washed towels. We laughed together over the phone, until tears ran down our faces.
I am sure you don't find this nearly as funny as we did. But, it WAS the highlight of my day. I am so thankful that in my tired and busy state, God allowed my to see the humor in this, to see that it was the perfect opportunity to share a good laugh, and to have such a great friend to share this laugh with!
I challenge you: what kinds of interesting things have YOU found in your washing machine???

I'm still laughing!!! :) And I think it's going to be quite a while until I don't think of this story whenever I'm switching laundry...
Just so you all know. It has got to be because my washer is on the "way out" and because we have 7 members in our family: I do the most loads per the poll. Most of you do between 10 and 15. I am envious. Next washer: front loader, max capacity, water saver. Yes, thats the one for me. Waiting for current washer death.
