Adjusting to having a baby in the house

We celebrated Lydia Mei's birthday on Thursday, 2/28. We were just too tired on Wednesday night. Elizabeth and Grandma baked a cake in the shape of a baby buggy. Too cute.

Jacob, Elizabeth, Benjamin, and Aaron are all doting on their new little sister. The play with her, watch her sleep, hold her, run into the house when they return home looking for her. She eats up the attention. She is happy, playful, and has such a sweet personality.

Lydia Mei did go to the doctor the morning after we returned home: ear infection. It is amazing she did not cry or scream during all of our flights home! She has been treated and is now feeling so much better.

Sleeping: still trying to turn her around from China time to our time. Doug and I are recovering from jet lag. Lydia Mei is up every couple of hours at night....maybe just to be sure one of us is still there. I wonder what she is thinking. This is so different from anything she had ever known before: love, good nutrition, toys, more love, attention.

She is a blessing to us and a gift from God.
