At 10:oo am, we did the traditional "Red Couch"pictures at the White Swan with all the babies. Lydia Mei did not like this! She is in the pink dress, crying. Also, we had a picture of Lydia Mei and her orphanage sister, Grace. (Thank you Eddie and Nicole for the great pictures!)
At 2:45, we all boarded the bus for the long bus ride through the sprawling city of
Guangzhou to go to the American Consulate to receive Lydia Mei's American Visa, the sealed brown envelope which will have to be given to the Immigration Officer at our entry point in the US (Los Angeles). After a few introductory remarks by the US Official, we took an oath of adoption(?). I cannot even remember the words as I was trying not to cry. We did have to hold up our right hand!
9:00 Luggage packed. All set for early rise at 4 am to leave for home!
